Happy Mother’s Day to the mom that took me to my first concert, and the many that followed it. Happy Mother’s Day to the mom that knew me better than I knew myself, and gave the best advice. Fuck you to the mom that went out and got shitfaced at least four nights a week, and the one that turned me against my dad. Fuck the mom that lost sixty pounds in four months, then tried to tell us she wasn’t on drugs, the one that left me with this boatload of responsibility when she left. Fuck the mom that embarrassed me in front of my friends, and the one that got two DUIs in three weeks. The one that tried to blind my dad and shut my phone off on my birthday? Fuck that one, especially. Old mom, I hope you’re out there somewhere, ‘cause I’m struggling here, and this new mom fucking sucks.
